February Village Market
Happy 4th Birthday to Ruddington Village Market!
Held on the first Saturday of each month, our open market is a super shopping experience – and its opening hours have been extended for 2023. There’s a huge variety of stalls on The Green plus chance to visit Ruddington’s many local shops and retailers, too.
You may like to raise a glass at the new ‘Market Bar’ and support a good cause by trying to win a cake to celebrate the occasion. It’s made by The Ruddington Cake Company. Just get a £1 raffle ticket during market day up until 1pm at the Welcome Tent – with all proceeds going to Clifton NG11 Foodbank.
Organisers say: “We are open until 2pm from this month, which we’re so excited about, and we will be having a Market Bar area, run by The Bottle Top each month. There will be plenty of seating for people to eat and drink.”

On Saturday 4th February you can expect over seventy traders from 9am until 2pm on the village green. The full list of this month’s visiting retailers – with their corresponding stall numbers on the map – is shown below:
The monthly market is a project of the award winning Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP). The market has grown in many ways: initiatives include a Young Entrepreneurs’ Programme (to mentor 16 to 30 year olds into market stall businesses) a partnership with the Trent Bridge Trust’s YouNG Project (to offer under 16s the chance to trade), an electrical repair service in tandem with Illumination Repairs CIC – and its recruiting volunteers to help with their repairs – and locals can ask about the village by visiting Ruddington Parish Council‘s tent. Councillors welcome your ideas or concerns for the local area, and can tell you more about what’s coming up in Ruddington. MP for Rushcliffe Ruth Edwards will be their February guest. ‘Live’ music this month comes from musician Aimee Stones and there should be a ‘special guest’ joining her, too.
The White Horse on Church Street – the Village Market’s original venue – is also staging its usual smaller market on the same date – running from 9am to 2pm.
Market days are very busy in Ruddington, and parking spaces are rather limited in the village centre {map below left}, so residents are encouraged to walk there, if they can. However, NEW for 2023, there’s now extra FREE parking at the Vision Express site from 9am until 2.30pm {map below right}. Follow postcode NG11 6NZ to ‘Ruddington Fields Business Park’, from where it’s just a 10 minute walk along Elms Park to the market along the route shown. 1st Ruddington Scouts will be there to marshal the car park and point you in the right direction. If that fills up, there are further spaces just over the road from Vision Express at Rushcliffe Country Park car park, where it’s just £1 to stay all day.
For visitors from further afield, there’s also an NCT discounted Market Day travel ticket if you come to Ruddington by bus. Village Market organisers say: “We’re super excited to be partnering with Nottingham City Transport to offer 15% off adult and Grouprider tickets on Market Days. All people need to do is scroll down to the NCT Partners category in the Mobile Tickets section of the NCTX Buses app, choose your ticket, enter discount code RUDDMARKET, and you’re good to go!”
