Dutton’s Hill Gas Works Cause Delays

Motorists are being warned that unscheduled roadworks which have appeared on Wilford Road in Ruddington could be with us for a week!

Drivers are facing queues in both directions after a gas leak meant Cadent were called in to carry out essential repairs to the main on Dutton’s Hill. Peak time delays are inevitable as 24-hour two-way temporary traffic lights are in use. Single line traffic means all parking outside Sainsbury’s has been suspended. The work in progress is to “…trace, then excavate to repair gas escape and reinstate where possible.”

The bulletin from Via East Midlands states that this work could continue until Tuesday 23rd April.

UPDATE:

The temporary traffic lights and parking restrictions were removed over the Easter weekend but have now resumed. The gas work is now rescheduled to finish this Thursday (25th April).
