Spring Art Exhibition

The Spring 2017 Art Exhibition has now begun in the Chapel Gallery at Ruddington’s Framework Knitters Museum. The exhibition – the museum’s fifth in total and fourth in partnership with the Nottingham Society of Artists – features work by three popular local artists: Doreen Hunt, Richard Simkins and 94 year old Nigel Corlett. Having opened on Saturday 4th March, the exhibition will run until Saturday 27th May – taking in the Easter school holidays and benefiting from Sunday opening days at the museum, which start on Easter Sunday. Framework Knitters’ Museum Reopens

Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum reopens today (Wednesday February 1st) after the winter break. The fourth exhibition at the Chapel Art Gallery, which opened in November 2016, also resumes. This features Nottinghamshire artists Lynda Childs, Dawn Wilsher and Nigel Boughton-Smith. It will continue until Wednesday the 22nd of February. Half Term Trains Cancelled

Ruddington’s Great Central Railway has announced that the half term services planned for February will not be able to run “due to unforeseen circumstances”. It was timetabled for trains to run over the weekends of the 11th & 12th of February and the 18th & 19th of February However GCRN Director Phil Stanway told RUDDINGTON.info that they’d reluctantly had to cancel these trips because of “unscheduled track repairs”. Co-op Cash Funding for our Framework Knitters

Whilst Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum remains closed for the usual January break it’s worth remembering that you can still support them just by shopping at the Co-op! Our nationally acclaimed museum was chosen for Co-op Local Community Funding last year. This has already raised over £650 which will go towards their Key Stage One educational programme for school children. That funding has now been extended until April 30th 2017, so there’s still plenty of time to raise money by purchasing Co-op own-brand products and services.
