Residents on Ruddington’s Musters Road estate and along Asher Lane will find out this week whether a property developers’ appeal against the refusal of adjacent Green Belt housing will be successful.
Following Rushcliffe Borough Council’s decision to refuse an outline planning application for 175 homes off Asher Lane in April 2017, the applicants Space Foods Ltd lodged an appeal with the Planning Inspectorate – reference number APP/P3040/W/17/3185493.
The appeal is actually against the refusal of the land owners’ ORIGINAL plans (below) with two access points off Asher Lane – rather than the revised application with access off Musters Road. Hundreds of local residents and our Parish Council have objected to the proposed development.
A Public Inquiry to consider the proposed development is being held over four days, from this Tuesday 17th to Friday 20th April 2018, in the Council Chamber at Rushcliffe Arena, Rugby Road, West Bridgford NG2 7YG, starting at 10am. These sessions are open to all members of the public and any interested parties. Ruddington Parish Council is urging all village residents who are able to attend to go along to the opening of this hearing. It says: “We feel it is important that the appointed Inspector realises how great the opposition to this application is within Ruddington.”
