Villagers might think there’s a conspiracy to grind Ruddington to a complete standstill?
Yet again this week we have two concurrent sets of temporary traffic lights as well as the six week closure of a major access route!
The latest signals are for two-way traffic control on Wilford Road, just north of Sellors’ Playing Field, to allow safe construction by Clarke Telecom of a fifty foot tall mobile telecommunications mast on behalf of O2 in the line of trees alongside the cycle path. The pole will support three antennae and a satellite dish with a cabinet at ground level (see >>HERE<< for the background).
The work is taking place from TODAY (Thursday 21st September) to next Monday the 25th September – which means it will overlap with both the over-running work on the chip shop and the closure of Flawforth Lane.
Nottinghamshire County Council says that the busy cycle path and footway should be kept open through most of this period. However the temporary lights on the B680 will have the potential to cause peak time delays to traffic and Nottingham City Transport’s Navy 3 service – so you’re once again advised to allow extra time for your journey.
