Ruddington’s Great Central Railway (Nottingham) is appealing for your help to catch those responsible for a relentless campaign of thefts and mindless acts of vandalism at the much loved, village tourist attraction. Gateway Signs Go Up

The installation of Ruddington’s smart new boundary signs, beside the main roads at the five gateways to our village, was completed today. Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) funded and commissioned the signposts to be created by Ruddington-based graphic design agency WigWag. They were then produced by specialist firm Signs of the Times in Leighton Buzzard and put into place today by RM Installations. They brand Ruddington as “The Museums Village” but haven’t replaced the existing signs, which are owned by Nottinghamshire County Council. Instead RPC says they “play a different role by celebrating our culture and heritage”. Back in January we reported that Ruddington is to get brand new boundary signs beside the main roads at the five gateways to our village. New Village Signs

Ruddington Parish Council has revealed that new village signage has been ordered for the five main road entrances into Ruddington. The new signs won’t replace the existing ones, which are owned by Nottinghamshire County Council, but will play a different role by celebrating our culture and heritage. Ruddington Railway Fundraiser gives £1.35K to Charity

A High Speed Train 40th anniversary event at Ruddington’s Great Central Railway has raised £1,350 for charity. Railway Children was presented with a cheque yesterday (Tuesday 6th December) by fundraisers from the 125 Group, the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) and East Midlands Trains. The cash was raised at a special event that took place at the Heritage Centre on the 19th of November where a visiting East Midlands Trains HST ran throughout the day to mark its 40th anniversary.
