As always, there’s a lot going on in Ruddington for the youngsters during the Easter Holidays!
The fun starts on Good Friday (30th March) when the Framework Knitters’ Museum will be holding their annual Easter Bunny Hunt from 11 am to 4pm. Any child who can help the framework knitters find all their knitted bunnies will be rewarded with an Easter Egg. The museum will also be toasting Hot Cross Buns on the cottage range, and the day will be filled with knitting demonstrations and fun activities for the kids. Entry is free for all children bringing their own toy bunny or wearing and Easter bonnet.
In addition, the museum will be running its popular kids’ craft-making programme, The Griswold Gang, on Thursdays 5th and 12th April. Please contact the museum on 0115 984 6914 for further details or email office@frameworkknittersmuseum.org.uk.
Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd April sees the return of GCRN’s ever-popular Easter “Eggs-press” Specials. Historic steam services will run on both days, with kids getting the chance to meet the Easter Bunny on the train and receive a small chocolate gift. There’ll also be free trips on heritage road vehicles, miniature and model railways and much more. The event runs from 10am to 6pm. Visit www.gcrn.co.uk for information and tickets.
Rushcliffe Country Park will be holding Den Building and Egg Hunt activities {top photo – courtesy of Visit Nottinghamshire} on Wednesday 4th, Thursday 5th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th April, from 10am to 12 noon. Each session costs £5, with a chocolate reward for each child. You’ll need to book and pay in advance at the Rangers’ Office. For further details, call the office on 0115 921 5865 or email countrypark@rushcliffe.gov.uk.
And, of course, don’t forget the special Easter Services and family events happening at Ruddington’s St. Peter’s, Methodist and Baptist Churches.
