Ruddington’s main bus operator has announced it will be making changes to its fare structure from Sunday the 26th of March. Nottingham City Transport, which runs our Navy 3, Green 10 and N48 Nightbus services, is citing increased operating costs.
It’s actually the first time the company’s cash fares have gone up in 3 years, whilst “Easyrider” prices have remained unchanged for between 5 and 7 years. Additionally incentives are being introduced to buy cheaper fares using the NCTX Buses App and the multi-network pay-as-you-go Robin Hood Card.
Starting on the last Sunday of this month, NCT is raising the price of an all day ticket by 20p to £3.70 if bought on the bus. It’s still £3.50 if bought through the NCTX Buses App or Robin Hood card. NCT will freeze the £2 adult single fare in Nottingham and introduce a discounted £1.90 single fare on the App. The operator is also increasing the age that young people can continue to pay discounted rates from under 18 to under 19. The range of tickets customers can buy via their smartphones is being expanded to include single and under 19 fares.
The “Eventrider” ticket increases to £2.50. The “NightBus” which serves Ruddington on Fridays and Saturdays remains at £3.00. There’s also a new “Local Fare” for any journey wholly within Ruddington, which is £1.30 single.
For anyone planning a #RuddyGoodDayOut “Grouprider” tickets will now become half-price (£5.00) from 9.30am every weekday instead of 5.00pm. The full price goes up £1.00 to £10.00 on weekdays before 9.30am. A Grouprider covers up to 5 people (minimum 1 adult, maximum 2 adults) and is aimed at those spending a family day out, going shopping at the weekend or for a night on the town. Grouprider can also be used by two adults travelling together to achieve cheaper fares than might be bought individually.
