Ruddington foodies are already fortunate to be able to select from a diverse range of different cuisines thanks to our numerous pubs, restaurants, cafés and takeaways. This autumn our choice is set to be enhanced even further by a new culinary concept being launched at Bar Six – which will see their chefs and menus CHANGE every month!
The ‘Kitchen Takeovers’ will start at the Dutton’s Hill venue on the first Tuesday in October. After that, a different street food or cuisine will be on offer each month from local, independent traders.
Lucy Would, who runs the Ruddington business in partnership with John Noble, promises the chefs and servers they book for this ground-breaking dining initiative will be of a very high calibre: “All well established, having had presence at various festivals and events including the increasingly popular Nottingham Street Food Club in the Victoria Centre, Splendour Festival and heaps more!”
Details of exactly WHO will begin the ‘takeovers’ of Bar Six in October, November and December will be revealed on their social media accounts and website very soon. Meantime we’re told to expect Caribbean, American and perhaps even Brazilian flavours coming to our village!
“We hope that the concept will bring something new and fun to Ruddington – even giving residents and visitors an opportunity to try new foods they may not normally opt for” explains Lucy. “We will be serving our tapas menu up until Thursday the 28th of September – with the first kitchen takeover commencing the following Tuesday.”
It is understood that Jasper’s Café, which has been trading during the daytime at 6 High Street since the end of March, will not be affected by these new, evening ‘kitchen takeovers’.
