Proud At James Peacock’s!

Ahead of Ruddington’s two schools breaking up for Christmas this week, parents of pupils at one of them had chance to go along and admire their children’s seasonal artwork.

Many village mums and dads took their opportunity to visit James Peacock Infant & Nursery School in Manor Park on Monday (19th December) to discover what their sons and daughters had created; with just a little help from the staff.

“We are so proud of our incredible children in Foundation 2 for putting on a fabulous ‘Winter Wonderland’ art exhibition this week!” says Deputy Headteacher Miss Hawthorne. “It was truly magical, with unique winter landscapes, paper snowflakes and salt-dough Christmas decorations, inspired by our observations of seasonal changes. The children used a variety of skills which we’ve been practising, to create such impressive expressive art!”

It seems the children really enjoyed the special event and were proud to show off their work – explaining how they created their individual masterpieces.

One pupil says: “I loved doing my winter art. I did painting and put some glitter on too.”

Another reveals: “My mummy came and looked at my winter picture. She thought it was brilliant.”

Whilst another explains: “I did a snowstorm. It has wool.”

Miss Hawthorne adds: “Well done to all of the staff and children involved!”
