August Village Market

Our popular monthly market promises a great shopping experience with a big variety of stallholders on The Green and a chance to visit our local shops and retailers, too.

This month’s Ruddington Village Market on Saturday August 6th is scheduled to have 78 traders on The Green from 9.00am until 12.30pm.

The full list of August’s visiting retailers – with their corresponding stall numbers on the map – is shown below.

The monthly market is a project of the award winning Ruddington Village Community Partnership (RVCP).  The market has grown in many ways: initiatives include a Young Entrepreneurs’ Programme (to mentor 16 to 30 year olds into market stall businesses) a partnership with the Trent Bridge Trust’s YouNG Project (to offer under 16s the chance to trade), an electrical repair service in tandem with Illumination Repairs CIC, and locals can ask out about the village by visiting Ruddington Parish Council‘s tent. This month they’re hosting members of Ruddington Gardeners’ Association, too, to give you more information about our green-fingered community group.

This month look out for a celebrity guest promoting next month’s ‘Tour of Britain’ which, once again, will be passing through Ruddington. RVCP’s ‘Charity of the Month’ is The Woodland Trust, whilst ‘Live’ music for August comes from Higgs Bo’sun.

The White Horse on Church Street – the Village Market’s original venue – is also staging its usual smaller market on the same date – although this will finish an hour earlier, running from 9.00am to 11.30am.

There is some extra parking available, as shown below. However, market days are very busy in Ruddington, so residents are encouraged to walk into the village if they can, since spaces are rather limited in the centre.

For visitors, there’s a new NCT discounted Market Day travel ticket if you come to Ruddington by bus. Village Market organisers say: “We’re super excited to be partnering with Nottingham City Transport to offer 15% off adult and Grouprider tickets on Market Days. All people need to do is scroll down to the NCT Partners category in the Mobile Tickets section of the NCTX Buses app, choose your ticket, enter discount code RUDDMARKET, and you’re good to go!”
