Come for Christingle!

If you like sweets and festive fun involving all the family, then please come along to help make around 400 Christingles! On 22nd December from 11.30am in The Hermitage Centre (located along St Peter’s Church).

Christian tradition is for children to stick sweets on cocktail sticks; then to pop them in an object, usually an orange (representing the globe), wrap a red ribbon (sharing love) around the orange; and then a candle (lighting up the world) goes on top.

Liz from the church said: “It’s really fun and we always end up eating a lot of sweets, and great for families as long as the children are over 5 as it involves spikey cocktail sticks!”

Christingle is a joyful celebration to bring everyone together and the church service will be on Christmas Eve between 4pm and 6pm in St Peter’s Church.
