Ruddington Co-op Targeted Overnight

Nottinghamshire Police have been at Ruddington Co-op in the aftermath of an incident which left the front window next to the cashpoint smashed. A Crime Scene Investigation team was deployed to the scene this morning to comb for clues.

Following a spate of offences in which cashpoints in our region have been ripped out with farm machinery, and had their money stolen, it was at first thought this may have been a similar incident. However a spokesman for the Co-op has told us their machine wasn’t attacked during the break-in, which happened at 1.12am this morning (Sunday 18th November). It seems just a few bottles of spirits were taken during the raid – with the most costly aspect to the Church Street business being the repair bill for the criminal damage to its shop window.

UPDATE MON 19th NOV:
Rushcliffe Police have told RUDDINGTON.info that a suspect has now been identified in connection with this crime. However, if you witnessed anything – or you live/work nearby and may have captured CCTV footage that could help secure a conviction – you’re asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101. Or you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
