Friends and family of a popular Ruddington man who died in a tragic accident in August are putting on a day of events in his memory.
As well as his partner Kelly Russell and two-year old daughter Scarlett, Michael Bugg had two other big loves in his life – football and music. So, on Sunday October 30th, they’re staging “BuggFest 2016”. The morning will see a game of football featuring mostly players from the former Bricklayers Arms and White Horse soccer sides at Elms Park. Then, in the afternoon and early evening, The White Horse will host a number of “live” music acts from around Nottinghamshire in their beer garden marquee as well as putting on an all day BBQ. A percentage of the food takings along with a raffle and auction on the day will go to three charities – The Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance, Help For Heroes and the The Starlight Children’s Foundation.
One of the event organisers, John Wright of Ruddington Village Cricket Club, told RUDDINGTON.info “We wanted to pay tribute to Michael by putting on a good community day to get everyone together and raise money for charity at the same time. We hope lots of people will come along and help us celebrate his life. Meantime we’re still looking for more raffle prizes. Please contact us via the BuggFest Facebook group page if there’s something you can donate.”
Buggfest also has its own Twitter account @Buggfest2016. The full event poster is below.
