A popular Ruddington child care facility, which has been looking after villagers’ babies and pre-school children for the past 23 years, has been sold by its original owner. Ruddington Day Nursery at ‘Grange House’ on Wilford Road was judged ‘Outstanding’ in all three of its Ofsted reports, with the most recent inspection being in 2019. After last week’s disappointing Ofsted results, and uncertainty about the current situation regarding James Peacock Infant and Nursery School’s longstanding Headteacher, Richard Waldron, it’s been revealed he has now left the school. Mr Waldron had been away from his post since October 2021 due to ill health – with Hannah Cutts becoming Acting Head in his absence. James Peacock Plummets in Ofsted Ratings

James Peacock Infant and Nursery School had a two-day inspection last month under Ofsted’s Education Inspection Framework (EIF), introduced in September 2019. It concluded that the Ruddington school has fallen from being ‘Outstanding’ (in 2010) down to ‘Requires improvement’ in every category – as shown below from its Ofsted school report. Ofsted ratings are: (1) Outstanding; (2) Good; (3) Requires Improvement; or (4) Inadequate. “St Peter’s C of E Junior School continues to be a ‘Good’ school.” That’s the verdict of Ofsted Inspector Jayne Ashman – following her visit to Ruddington on 11th & 12th of January 2022.
