24 More Green Belt Homes Approved

Over eighteen months after plans were revealed to add further houses to a current Ruddington development, permission to expand it onto additional land which was also previously part of our village Green Belt has been granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). Special School Plans Approved

The wheels are now in motion for a Grade 2 listing building here in Ruddington to begin a new chapter in its history – after planning permission for a ‘special school’ there was granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC). Hot on the heels of planning approval being given to developers to build a major new retirement complex in Manor Park, Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) has also given the go-ahead for a major expansion of existing accommodation for elderly residents in Ruddington. Manor Park Retirement Complex Approved

Proposals submitted over the summer, for a substantial new retirement complex at the heart of Ruddington’s Conservation Area in Manor Park, have been approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council planners. Churchill Retirement Living can now go ahead with its development of 43 apartments for older people, plus a guest apartment and communal facilities along with car parking and landscaping. 29 of these sheltered apartments will be single bedroomed, whilst 14 will have two bedrooms. It’s just over a week since we revealed that FOUR Green Belt areas around the edge of our village had been given the Government Planning Inspector’s blessing to be sacrificed for at least 525 new houses. In his report, Senior Inspector Philip Lewis BA (Hons) MA MRTPI concluded that Rushcliffe’s Local Plan Part 2, as submitted for examination, was “legally compliant and sound, subject to a number of modifications” he has recommended.
