High Street, Ruddington
Ruddington’s The Bottle Top is marking ‘Oktoberfest’ again this year and, as usual, it actually starts in September!
Beer guru Anthony Preston, who co-owns the popular village business with wife Alex, explains: “Oktoberfest is a 16 to 18 day German festival which runs until the first Sunday in October. Hence why it commences in September.”
As always there will be tables and chairs, inside and out, at their High Street premises. You’re invited along to drink in style from traditional steins (deposit required). There’ll be traditional Oktoberfest beers on draught as well as all The Bottle Top’s usual craft beers, ciders and eco-friendly wines from a multitude of breweries and producers far and wide. This now includes beers from the couple’s own Solstice Brewing company – brewing nature inspired craft ales that support local artists, small businesses and female workers.
‘Oktoberfest’ at The Bottle Top begins with a ‘launch party’ – a private German Beer and Cheese Tasting priced at £25 per person which is already fully booked – after which there’s no entry fee and a normal bar service will operate during business opening hours. Usual trading times are 9am to 6pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 9pm Friday and Saturday. However, it’s likely they’ll stay open until later during ‘Oktoberfest’ if there’s a demand to do so.
Anthony adds: “A small waiting time may be in operation if there are too many people in attendance. Our shop will operate as normal, where you can still find our fresh fruit and veg and refillable items.”
