New Community Centre Design Consultation @ St Peter's Rooms
Aug 6 @ 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Ruddington Parish Council (RPC) is holding a consultation event for its proposed new village Community Centre behind The Green.

The consultation is being held in St. Peters Rooms on the following dates and times:

  • Friday 6th August – 16.00 – 19.00
  • Saturday 7th August – 09.00 – 13.00
  • Friday 20th August – 16.00 – 19.00
  • Saturday 21th August – 09.00 – 13.00

RPC says: “The Parish Council and Chris Marriott, a local architect, have been working towards a design for the current and growing needs of our community. We hope to see you there on one of the days!”

This follows an online survey carried out last year. You can read a little about the history of this site >>HERE<<.

Local residents are welcome to go along and view its plans for the new Community Centre – and there will also be opportunity to comment and make suggestions, should you wish.

Please also check back here at RUDDINGTON.info after Friday 6th when we hope to be able to publish the plans.

Move & Mingle Health Walk @ Rushcliffe Country Park
Aug 11 @ 10:30 am

Rushcliffe Country Park “Move And Mingle” events are part of Rushcliffe Health Walks.

Following further easing of COVID-19 Coronavirus restrictions, these FREE guided health walks resumed on Wednesday 21st April and are taking place every Wednesday at 10.30am again unless otherwise advised.

For now, walkers are asked to assemble away from the Education Room, just around the lake beyond the volunteer’s car park, just before the start time. Participants who are not within the same ‘family bubble’ should continue to observe ‘social distancing’ at all times, please, to keep each other safe.

The route varies from week to week around the park, usually no longer than 2 miles. The walk leader will adapt the route to suit the walkers – with a choice of walks to match your fitness and level of ability: a 30 minute shorter walk around the lake: or a longer walk of up to an hour.

Until further notice, Friends of RCP “Linger by the Lake” coffee mornings are still not taking place in the centre. So walkers may wish to take along their own refreshments, if desired.

Ruddington Safari Sale @ Throughout Ruddington Village
Sep 5 @ 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

The next ‘Safari Sale’ will be on the first Sunday in September between 10am and 2pm. The popular event is where villagers can conveniently sell and/or recycle their unwanted items from their front gardens or driveways.

It will cost £1.50 to register your ‘stall’, with proceeds going towards printing of the Safari Sale maps and a local good cause in Ruddington*.

Organiser Sarah Norton says: “Have a clearout and sign up! I’ve set a deadline of Friday 27th August to register so that it gives me enough time to update and print some maps a few days before the sale. Please note that your house number will not be present on the maps. It will just be street name and a dot of the approximate location.

If you’re interested, you’re asked to email your address and what you will be selling or gifting to ruddingtonsafari@outlook.com as soon as possible or message Sarah on the Ruddington Safari Facebook page if you have any queries.

*Money raised from September’s stall fees will be donated to Edible Ruddington – a relatively new venture run by volunteers aiming: “to improve overgrown and unloved areas in Ruddington and promote wellbeing through outdoor spaces… to enhance our community spaces by growing fruit, veg and herbs.”

Move & Mingle Health Walk @ Rushcliffe Country Park
Nov 24 @ 10:30 am
