Join in with Ruddington events to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen’s record breaking reign from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June. To mark the Platinum Jubilee our village has been been decorated with red, white and blue flowers, ribbons, flags and yarn bombing displays. This weekend the Green will be home to a tree-planting ceremony (at Saturday’s Ruddington Village Market) plus a community picnic, followed by games and live music, for all to enjoy. A meeting of Ruddington Parish Council has agreed a plan which could involve closing and selling off our Village Hall to help fund the purchase of the former Young People’s Centre on The Green. In April, we reported that continuing vandalism to the disused Youth & Community building had prompted owners Nottinghamshire County Council to take some decisive action over the empty premises.
