New Council Clerk

Ruddington Parish Council is welcoming Claire Dorans as its new Clerk. Claire, who actually started work with RPC on Monday the 20th of March, has held posts in Local Government for over 16 years, initially at Melton Borough Council and more recently at Asfordby Parish Council. Claire is shadowing current Clerk to the Council, Gary Long, until he retires at the end of May. Says Claire: “I thoroughly enjoy working in Local Government. Mark Pinks says he is “humbled” to have won the Ruddington Parish Council By-Election held to fill the vacant seat in Camelot Ward. Following the vote, on the 23rd February at the Village Hall, the results were: 1st: Mark Pinks: 120 votes 2nd: Yvonne Lishman: 94 votes 3rd: Ian Wilson: 87 votes Mark Pinks is therefore elected as the new councillor for Camelot Ward. “Pinksy” is an IT professional who has lived and worked in Ruddington since 2005. You don’t have to be King Arthur to get into Camelot when it comes to Ruddington Parish Council!  But you do need to live locally and have a keen interest in village affairs. The latest vacancy in Camelot Ward follows the resignation of Councillor Andy Scott towards the end of last year for “family reasons”.
