Ruddington Parish Council is again looking for community-minded villagers to come forward to fill two vacancies – after a couple of its newer councillors stepped down. Empty seats have been left in Camelot Ward and Manor Ward – following the resignations of Yvonne Lishman and Sarah Godfrey respectively. Their departures follow a relatively stable period for the Council after a raft of resignations during 2016 and 2017. The number of vacant seats on Ruddington Parish Council has risen to three – following the resignation this week of Flawford Ward Councillor, John Noble. He told RUDDINGTON.info that his decision to leave was purely due to time constraints and him being able to give the council the dedication required. Ruddington remains “true blue” following yesterday’s Nottinghamshire County Council elections. After the count this morning it was revealed that BOTH the councillors for the new, expanded “Leake & Ruddington” Electoral Division were the Conservative party candidates – between them securing 57.05% of the vote. Bradmore based councillor Reg Adair (above) continues his 12 year run representing Ruddington at County Hall. He is now joined by fellow Conservative Andy Brown (right) of East Leake – who previously represented Soar Valley. Mark Pinks says he is “humbled” to have won the Ruddington Parish Council By-Election held to fill the vacant seat in Camelot Ward.
