House Prices Increase by the Most Since 2007

Mortgage lender Halifax has reported this week that house prices in the UK rose by the most in almost 15 years during September. This came as the stamp-duty holiday came to an end – and the Halifax predicts that prices will continue to climb to new record high levels. Prices rose by 1.7% from August, the biggest monthly increase since February 2007. Ruddington Library is reverting to its pre-pandemic opening times from today (5th October). Since March last year our library has been completely closed during three COVID-19 ‘lockdowns’ and then reduced to opening just two half days a week ever since. Following an unprecedented period where there has been a very uncharacteristic lack of activity at the distinctive and historic Church Street building, Ruddington Methodist Church springs back to life this weekend! Hundreds Attend Skate Park’s Official Opening

This weekend’s official opening of Ruddington’s new skate park has been hailed a great success by organisers – after people of all ages and abilities flocked to the special sessions arranged for its launch at Rushcliffe Country Park yesterday (Saturday 14th August). Although the £210,000 state-of-the-art facility actually opened in June, it was decided to wait until all COVID-19 restrictions had been lifted to put on this more formal event. Ruddington’s much loved annual Beer and Cider Festival, which was cancelled completely in 2020 due to COVID-19, will go ahead this year – at the end of this month! In February, a decision was made to push back further the 3rd-6th June dates originally considered for RuddFest 2021 because some Coronavirus restrictions in England would still be in force. Update to Stamp Duty Thresholds
