Ruddington Running Event Called Off

Promoters have announced the postponement of this weekend’s Rushcliffe 10K & Running Festival – which was due to take place in Rushcliffe Country Park on Sunday (1st March 2020).

It’s been cancelled due to safely fears following severe flooding of parts of the course over the last fortnight after the almost unprecedented spell of rain. It’s the second time in three years the event – organised by Perfect Motion Sports Marketing for Rushcliffe Borough Council has had to be rescheduled. The 2018 Running Festival was disrupted by snow and ice.

Perfect Motion say: “After a site visit this morning we have decided to postpone the event as the venue isn’t safe enough to hold a race on right now and that isn’t going to improve sufficiently enough to be the case by Sunday. We are sorry to have to do this, but the safety of all involved in our events is our number one priority.”

The new date has been announced as Sunday April 5th 2020 – by which time it’s hoped conditions in Ruddington will be a little drier! All entries will automatically moved to this day. However, if this is not convenient, organisers say you have the following options instead:-

  1. Your entry can be deferred to next year’s event which will take place on Sunday 21st March 2021.
  2. You can choose to move your entry to another Perfect Motion event – Sunrise City 5K (www.sunrisecity.co.uk for dates and cities), Cycle Live Nottingham on 14th June or Mansfield 10K on 13th September.
  3. You can request a refund of your entry fee. If you opt for the refund, promoters say these will not be processed until after 5th April.

If you would like to take up any of the above options you’re asked to email events@perfectmotion.org by no later than Friday 6th March. After this date the deferral, new event and refund options will no longer be available.
