Ruddington’s motorists are experiencing further hold-ups – because Cadent gas work on Wilford Road has returned!
The company originally began tackling an unexpected problem on Dutton’s Hill before Easter. Emergency works started there to “…trace, then excavate to repair gas escape and reinstate where possible.” However, it appears the issue was not resolved, and the workers, their pneumatic drills and 24-hour two-way traffic lights are all back!
Now, drivers through this part of our village are facing more peak time queues, and the single line traffic means all parking outside Sainsbury’s has again been suspended.
The latest bulletin from Via East Midlands states that this work could continue until Monday 20th May.
Motorists who use Clifton Lane out of Ruddington also face delays due to two-way traffic signals until Monday 21st May. It’s because British Telecom is replacing a telegraph pole alongside the road, just beyond the Pasture Lane roundabout.
