May Day Mercedes Theft on Musters Road

Another Ruddington property was targeted by criminals early this morning – with the householders’ executive car taken during the raid.

The burglary happened on Musters Road at around 5am today (Tuesday 1st May), just before sunrise.

Rushcliffe Police report that a grey Mercedes E350 Hybrid vehicle was stolen with keys taken from the property. Officers returned to the scene later this morning to carry out fingerprinting. They also went door-to-door along the street to ask neighbours if they saw anything. However, unlike some car thefts we reported in Ruddington last month, this vehicle was stolen by getting access to its keys rather than a new high-tech method known as “Relay Car Theft”.

Additionally, Police have told RUDDINGTON.info that, over the weekend, two attempts were made to kick doors open to commercial properties on Brookside Road and on Charles Street. But the offender was disturbed and no entry was gained. Also village resident Rick Lower has reported to us that both his car number plates were stolen on Sunday night. So please remain vigilant!

If you saw anything suspicious – or may have captured CCTV footage that could help – you’re asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101. Or you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
