Machete Threat to Ruddington Householder

Nottinghamshire Police are investigating a report that a 20-year-old man was threatened with a machete whilst holding his child at his home in Ruddington.

Officers were called to Leys Road at around 8.30pm on Saturday (10th March). They state: “It’s believed three masked men forced entry to the house before taking cash, jewellery and a Ford KA car. The suspects were dressed in black and were wearing masks so we don’t have a description of them; however we believe that a dark coloured vehicle was also involved.”

Officers say enquiries are now underway into this terrifying incident – and are urging anyone who thinks they may know who was responsible to come forward as soon as possible.

UPDATE: 13th March

Rushcliffe Police are warning that, in the early hours of this morning, another property was broken into in Ruddington – this time on Musters Road. They reveal “The offenders entered the premises by breaking a ground floor window at the rear, and stealing the occupants black Toyota RAV4 with keys.”

Crime Prevention Officers advise: “Please keep car keys out of sight or easy access overnight. And if possible keep your vehicle in a locked garage or behind locked gates when not in use. Also use a good quality steering wheel lock as an added deterrent.”
