Volunteer Support Role (monthly)

Website Hear Together

The charity is all about living well with hearing loss. We work with children and adults with any type of hearing loss.

If you like communicating with others and want to help a local charity at its hearing aid & advice sessions in St Peter’s Rooms, just once a month for about an hour, then try your hand at being a regular volunteer.

The Hear2Help drop-in clinic aims to help any age live well with hearing loss and is run by Hear Together. The charity says in our village it “provides a fantastic local service to older people who use hearing aids. Anyone can bring their hearing aids along to the 1 hour drop-in session with Didi (Dianne) where she will change batteries, clean and replace tubing and provide trouble-shooting support and advice.”  See our Events Calendar for the next clinic drop-in.

For this voluntary role, you’ll need to welcome clinic visitors and support Dianne to ensure the drop-in runs smoothly.

Duties will involve

  • taking a few details and noting down key information;
  • ensuring the next person on the list is ready for their turn;
  • sorting through stock such as batteries and hearing aid tubing to find what Didi needs for the next visitor.

No experience of hearing aids is required because you will be supported with anything you need to learn for this role.

If you can help regularly at the 1-hour monthly drop-in, please email sarah@heartogether.org.uk.

To apply for this job email your details to sarah@heartogether.org.uk.
