New Style Café Church

On the first Sunday of every month a New Style Café Church usually takes place at St Peter’s Church from 9.30am until 10.50am. For those wishing to stay longer, this is followed by Holy Communion.

However, as of Thursday 19th March 2020, in line with Church of England advice, due to COVID-19 Coronavirus St Peter’s has announced it has cancelled all its services until further notice.
For the time being the church will remain open for private prayer from 9am to midday on Wednesdays and Sundays and from 1pm to 4pm on Saturdays.
Churchgoers are strongly encouraged to maintain good hygiene and observe social distancing if entering the building.

Information for when it eventually resumes…
Organiser Debbie King told us: “We aim to provide something for everyone, from pre-school, through schools, teens, students, families, parents, grandparents, all ages and backgrounds! For those wanting activity on a Sunday morning, there is drama, music, art, crafts, and discussion groups. Also, a quieter area for reflection, space to think, pray, even prayed for.”
If you’re alone, lonely, or at a loose end on a Sunday morning, you’re encouraged to go along and join in – and so perhaps discover others in a similar position. “If new to the village – come to meet people from the local community, find out about our church community in the village and the things we do. If a busy professional or someone curious with questions – check us out, join a discussion!”
Central to the Café Church idea is a short talk on a Bible related topic incorporating film clips or sketches, a time of discussion and questions. “Find out how God and the Bible can help us in our everyday life – not just a topic that’s far out there, not relevant to us – discover that God is someone whom we can meet, and the Bible, a book we can learn from, even integrate into our lives”says Debbie.
All this, alongside coffee, Danish pastries and some good company will hopefully tempt you along to the informal atmosphere of this monthly Café Church at St Peter’s.

The event is finished.
