‘Pit to Paradise’ Guided Ruddington History Walks

Theres a choice of two ‘walk and talk’ events to find out more about the history of our village.

Dr Gavin Walker, curator of The Village Museum, will be your guide as you stroll around Ruddington on Bank Holiday Monday 28th  August for ‘Pit to Paradise’. It’s a guided walk around Wilford Road, Woodley Street, Clifton Road and Manor Park, supported by Ruddington Parish Council, and is FREE to attend.

So do you remember ‘The Rendezvous’ or the ‘Marl Pits’? Are you intrigued and wish to know more about our village’s past?  Meet at St Peter’s Rooms on Church Street at 11.00am for the morning walk, or 2.00pm for the afternoon walk. The stroll is around 2 miles and will take about 2 hours, with an opportunity for people to see the Village Museum at the end of each walk.

N.B. Part of the walk is on unmade paths through ‘Paradise Gardens’ Allotments, so you are advised to don suitable footwear.

If you want to ‘refuel’ after Gavin’s morning walk, or fortify yourself before his afternoon walk – or simply want to treat yourself this Bank Holiday Monday – why not make your way to St. Peter’s Church from 1pm for ‘Afternoon Tea’.

Everyone’s welcome!
