Clap For Our Carers in Ruddington

Each Thursday evening at 8pm, whilst the initial lockdown continues, everyone in Ruddington is invited to join millions of others up and down the country to stand in doorways, on balconies or at windows, to applaud the key workers fighting at the frontline of COVID-19 Coronavirus.
It’s an idea kickstarted in the UK on March 26th by Dutch LondonerAnnemarie Plas -after seeing it happen in other countries – and the applause in our village has been getting louder week by week.
‘Clap For Our Carers’ includes Nottinghamshire’s NHS workers, other care providers, pharmacists, essential shop workers, supermarket staff – even Rushcliffe’s refuse collectors – who are selflessly continuing to serve us whilst putting themselves at risk of catching the disease.
You’re invited to join with other residents, at a safe ‘social distance’, to let these workers hear how much they are appreciated, with two minutes of applause from your home – and maybe also with pans, hooters or rattles to make some noise!

The last official one will be held on Thursday 28th May 2020. Thank you, Ruddington.

The event is finished.
