Ruddington, Nottingham NG11 6HE
With the 75th Anniversary of VE Day approaching on May 8th, Ruddington’s famous Framework Knitters’ Museum is teaming up with other village organisations to prepare for a community celebration!
Organisers say: “Come and help us knit a giant red, white and blue decoration for the event and take away your own knitted souvenir made on our antique machines. There will be mini-tours of our cottages so you can find out how life was like for our Victorian knitters.”
They add: “Our popular mouse hunt will be re-launched so younger visitors can discover the lives of Victorian children. You can also draw your own favourite object and even have a go at framework knitting yourself under the expert guidance of Matt, our knitting demonstrator.”
This is actually the first time allowing people to knit on their genuine Victorian frames has been on offer – so be sure to take full advantage!
Head along during usual museum opening hours from Wednesday 19th to Saturday 22nd February 2020. Normal admission prices apply – but children get in for FREE.
