This is a no-beats, timed work-out class for adults giving options for all exercises, allowing you to control the intensity of your own-workouts. It’s an on-the-spot circuits class which has no choreography and beats to keep up with making it suitable for ANY ability; whether you be new to fitness or just continuing your journey.
After managing to run just ONE class in Ruddington, prior to ‘lockdown’, fit4everybody instructor Sara Lomas has now been given the go-ahead to resume her Monday evening sessions at our Village Hall this autumn.
“There will be staged progressions/regressions for every exercise given, allowing you to perform a non-impact gentler work-out, an intense more difficult work-out or any stages in-between” explains Sara. “You are in control. During the class you will try to keep your body moving for the entire 45 minutes. When you want to slow things down then you are encouraged to walk or march on the spot until you feel ready again. I will be with you every step of the way, motivating you and helping you to make the right choices.”
Sara adds: “You will be encouraged to focus on how your own body feels whilst performing exercises, concentrating on always keeping excellent form and remembering to breathe. Although this sounds simple there is a tendency for people to push their bodies too far, perform exercises incorrectly when fatigue sets in and hold their breath when they concentrate; which is not healthy for our bodies, does not have the desired effects of the exercises and may even lead to injuries.”
Addressing people’s concerns about Coronavirus, Sara says: “Please, please remember to wash your hands before and after classes. If anybody feels unwell then please do not attend. Eating is only permitted before and after classes (not during) and hands must be cleaned before and after, please. If you have hand-gel then please bring it with you. We need to minimise risks wherever possible. All equipment is thoroughly cleaned and all government guidance on COVID-19 is followed, including socially distancing. I will be cleaning door handles before and after classes also. Any adult classes requiring mats then I ask you to wipe down mats with the wipes provided after use.”
