Ruddington’s The Bottle Top is hosting another ‘open house’ event this month. Yes, although it’s called ‘Oktoberfest’, it’s actually in September!
Beer enthusiast Anthony Preston, who co-owns the business with wife Alex, explains: “Oktoberfest is a 16 to 18 day festival which runs until the first Sunday in October. Hence why it commences in September. In 2019 Oktoberfest begins on the 21st September in Munich.”
There will be tables and chairs, inside and out, at their High Street premises, similar to RuddFest. You’re invited along to drink in style from traditional steins (deposit required). There’ll be two traditional Oktoberfest beers from Hacker Pschorr and Paulaner on draught as well as all The Bottle Top’s usual craft beers and ciders from a multitude of breweries far and wide. There’s no entry fee and a normal bar service will operate. There will also be a BBQ on Friday and Saturday evening.
“Apart from the official Oktoberfest beers we will continue to offer a vast array of craft beer, real ale and ciders that are unavailable elsewhere” promises Anthony. “A small waiting time may be in operation if there are too many people in attendance. Our shop will operate as normal, where you can still find our fresh fruit and veg and refillable items.”
Anthony reveals: “We have plans to convert our shop in to a micro bar quarterly, with seasonal themes. So four times a year.”
The Bottle Top’s three day Oktoberfest will commence at midday each day and will finish at 9pm on Thursday and 11pm on Friday and Saturday.
