Eat Out to Help Out in Ruddington

A new government funded scheme which is aiming to help hospitality businesses attract trade back after COVID-19 closure is launched this week – and will run every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday throughout August. No less than ten village centre eateries are taking part!

‘Eat Out to Help Out’ means customers who dine on the premises will benefit from a 50% discount, up to a maximum of £10 per person, on food and non-alcoholic drinks at participating pubs, cafés and restaurants. No voucher is required and diners can take advantage of the offer as many times as they like during this month.

Venues which have signed up – such as The Bottle Top in Ruddington – are displaying this special logo to indicate they’re part of the scheme. It’s being run there by Jen Walker {pictured top right with Alex Preston} who originally joined Alex and Anthony during ‘lockdown’ at their High Street shop to serve takeaway hot drinks via her Split Screen Coffee business.

Jen reveals: “I have now set up permanently at The Bottle Top and we have all been so grateful for all the support since the beginning of the venture. The ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme marks the beginning of sit-down coffee & cake service at the shop. We are very excited to serve our locally roasted, Ruddington’s-own coffee blend along with Ant and Alex’s unique offerings. We have sourced our cakes from Fran at Sugarberry in Sneinton and pastries from Kate at Derby Road’s Tough Mary’s Bakehouse.”

Jen adds: “Shopping at The Bottle Top will really be supporting a hub of small businesses and I hope the scheme will help people to feel more confident to get out and support their local businesses.”

The other participating cafés in Ruddington are Philo’s Deli, Black Cat Café and also if eating in at Loughborough Road Service Station. Four of our village pubs have joined in, too; namely The Ruddington Arms, The Next Episode, The Frame Breakers and The White Horse Inn. You can also get the discount when dining at The Cottage Hotel, The Three Spices and Dhaka Delhi. You should contact these venues directly for their individual offers & opening times, and to make a booking.
