Early in March, RUDDINGTON.info helped new village estate and letting agents Benwell Daykin to launch their ‘Easter Colouring Competition’ – a bit of fun for local children of all ages in the run up to Easter for a chance to win various prizes, including lots of chocolate, of course!
At the time, copies of the artwork were distributed to St Peter’s Junior School and James Peacock Primary School in the hope that as many village children as possible would take part. Since then, unfortunately both the Ruddington schools and Benwell Daykin‘s branch at 12, High Street have been closed due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic.
However, please note that THE COMPETITION GOES ON! Kids are still being invited to post their entries – or alternatively to get a parent to guardian to photograph their entry and submit it ‘remotely’ instead. Just make sure to state which age group, please.
General Manager Ricky Benwell says: “I welcome all types of entries, whether it’s a post on social media – with @BenwellDaykin tagged into the picture – or via email. I’m going into the branch an hour a week to check it over – so they can still be posted through the letter box”.
If you didn’t get the necessary artwork, you can click >>HERE<< (or on the image below) to download and print out a copy of the egg which your youngsters need to colour in.
Kids can colour in the egg however they wish – using crayons, paint, glitter or whatever comes to mind. There are prizes for the top three pictures in each category, which are under 5s, 6-8 years old and 9-11 years old. Prizes range from small Easter eggs through to large Easter eggs and also Smyths Toy Store vouchers.
As to how the current lockdown is affecting day-to-day business, Ricky says: “We care very much about the community and hear the Prime Minister’s message loud and clear that all ‘non-essential shops’ are ordered to close. We will, however, continue to operate during our working hours with staff working from home and able to answer any queries you have both on the telephone and via email.”
Ricky adds: “No viewings or valuations that require face to face interaction will be conducted until further notice, therefore please accept our sincere apologies. We’re instead offering Skype and FaceTime viewings and valuations during this time – with reduced rates for vendors who assist with marketing photographs. Please do not hesitate to get in touch.”
You can still contact Benwell Daykin on 0115 990 2007 or by emailing email@example.com.
Meantime the entry deadline for the ‘Easter Colouring Competition’ (either via the office or online) is Thursday April 9th please – just before the usual Easter break. Winners will then be picked and announced on Easter Monday – with the parents or guardians contacted to sort out doorstep delivery of their prizes.
