Rushcliffe 5k Parkrun @ Rushcliffe Country Park
Nov 27 @ 9:00 am

Rushcliffe Parkrun is a weekly 5km run – you against the clock – every Saturday at 9:00am.

It returned in July 2021 after an absence of sixteen months due to the Coronavirus pandemic. ‘Parkrun’ is now operating nationally under a ten point COVID protocol which includes social distancing. In Ruddington the pre-run briefing is now delivered in the ‘Kite Field’ to facilitate this. You can read more >>HERE<<.

It all takes place in Rushcliffe Country Park, NG11 6JS. This is the course…

It costs nothing to join in but you’re asked to register before your first run. You only ever need to register with Parkrun once. Don’t forget to take a printed copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won’t get a time.

Everyone runs purely for their own enjoyment so you’re welcome along whatever your pace!

Wherever possible organisers urge you to walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.

Rushcliffe parkrun needs you!
It is entirely organised by volunteers. Please email rushcliffehelpers@parkrun.com if you can help.

Rushcliffe Junior Parkrun @ Rushcliffe Country Park
Nov 28 @ 9:00 am

After being suspended in March 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Ruddington’s Junior Parkrun is now back every Sunday morning – although currently for 4 to 10 year-olds only.

The age range has been restricted temporarily to ensure numbers attending are kept down to lower levels than would previously have been the case, to allow for greater ‘social distancing’.

It’s run in Rushcliffe Country Park, Ruddington, NG11 6JS. This is the course…

It costs nothing to join in but you’re asked to register before your first run. Only ever register with Parkrun once. Don’t forget to take a printed copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won’t get a time. However, you’re welcome along whatever your pace!

Whilst COVID-19 restrictions remain, the extra key points to remember are:

  • Only children aged 4 to 10 years old may take part until further notice.
  • Adults will need to ‘socially distance’ at all times, using the space in the field to do so, and support children where practical.
  • The pre-run briefing and warm up will be kept short to minimise the time gathered before – and also afterwards.
  • Participants need to bring printed barcodes as usual. If you’re new to Parkrun, you’ll need to complete a one-off registration online beforehand.
  • Participants will need to be considerate of other park users and maintain trust by role-modelling social distancing, showing respect for others, etc.

You can read more >>HERE<<.

Wherever possible organisers urge you to walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when travelling to the event. If you’re a Ruddington resident why not walk up to the park then treat the kids to a double-decker bus ride back home via NCT’s Green 10C service? Just remember your face coverings for the adults.

If you do have to drive, please watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. Parking may be limited so try to arrive early.

Organisers are always on the lookout for marshals. If you’d like to find out more about volunteering to help, and/or to sign up your four to ten year-old for Ruddington’s Parkrun, you can do so >>HERE<<.

Move & Mingle Health Walk @ Rushcliffe Country Park
Dec 1 @ 10:30 am

Rushcliffe Country Park “Move And Mingle” events are part of Rushcliffe Health Walks.

Following further easing of COVID-19 Coronavirus restrictions, these FREE guided health walks resumed on Wednesday 21st April and are taking place every Wednesday at 10.30am again unless otherwise advised.

For now, walkers are asked to assemble away from the Education Room, just around the lake beyond the volunteer’s car park, just before the start time. Participants who are not within the same ‘family bubble’ should continue to observe ‘social distancing’ at all times, please, to keep each other safe.

The route varies from week to week around the park, usually no longer than 2 miles. The walk leader will adapt the route to suit the walkers – with a choice of walks to match your fitness and level of ability: a 30 minute shorter walk around the lake: or a longer walk of up to an hour.

Until further notice, Friends of RCP “Linger by the Lake” coffee mornings are still not taking place in the centre. So walkers may wish to take along their own refreshments, if desired.
