New Style Café Church @ St Peter's Church
Sep 1 @ 9:30 am – 10:50 am

On the first Sunday of every month a New Style Café Church takes place at St Peter’s Church from 9.30am until 10.50am. For those wishing to stay longer, this is followed by Holy Communion.

Organiser Debbie King told us: “We aim to provide something for everyone, from pre-school, through schools, teens, students, families, parents, grandparents, all ages and backgrounds! For those wanting activity on a Sunday morning, there is drama, music, art, crafts, and discussion groups. Also, a quieter area for reflection, space to think, pray, even prayed for.”

If you’re alone, lonely, or at a loose end on a Sunday morning, you’re encouraged to go along and join in – and so perhaps discover others in a similar position. “If new to the village – come to meet people from the local community, find out about our church community in the village and the things we do. If a busy professional or someone curious with questions – check us out, join a discussion!”

Central to the Café Church idea is a short talk on a Bible related topic incorporating film clips or sketches, a time of discussion and questions. “Find out how God and the Bible can help us in our everyday life – not just a topic that’s far out there, not relevant to us – discover that God is someone whom we can meet, and the Bible, a book we can learn from, even integrate into our lives” says Debbie.

All this, alongside coffee, Danish pastries and some good company will hopefully tempt you along to the informal atmosphere of this monthly Café Church at St Peter’s.

Ruddington Village Market @ White Horse Inn, Marquee, Courtyard & Car Park
Sep 7 @ 9:00 am – 12:30 pm

Ruddington’s Village Market takes place on the first Saturday of each month at The White Horse Inn. It’s an initiative jointly run by the pub alongside volunteers from The Ruddington Village Centre Partnership.

Each month around two dozen stalls are set up in and around the popular Church Street pub – offering a variety of goods, produce, plants, confectionery, quality crafts and provisions to take away. These are run by both existing village retailers and popular market traders from across the region. The selection of stalls changes each month, so there are always some surprises. There’s also a stand from a chosen local charity plus refreshments and occasional live performances by local musicians and singers.

To find out who’ll be at the market THIS month please click >>HERE<<.

Since it was launched in February 2019, Ruddington Village Market has generally been well supported each month, even in the rain, however organisers hope residents and visitors alike will keep on coming and spreading the word, to enable it to continue to grow and thrive, and so remain a permanent fixture. Read more >>HERE<<.

Whilst you’re in Ruddington do make sure to browse around our many independent village centre shops, cafés and pubs, too – AND check out all the deals and discounts available with your FREE “Ruddy Good Loyalty Card” >>HERE<<.

The Old Bakehouse Tearoom just around the corner from the market on Church Street is one of those retailers offering anyone who shows their Ruddington Loyalty Card a different special deal each month. Lesley and her team would love to welcome you!

Please tell all your friends to come along on the first Saturday of every month (except January) between 9am and 12.30pm. You and they can leave your cars at home because Nottingham City Transport‘s Navy 3 and Green 10 buses, both stop right outside The White Horse.

If you’re a market trader wishing to book a stall here in the future, please click >>HERE<<.
