Ruddington has LOST its long running battle with housing developers who’ve applied to build a major new housing estate on Green Belt land off Asher Lane. Last December we reported how Space Foods Ltd had decided to appeal to the Planning Inspectorate against Rushcliffe Borough Council’s refusal to allow it outline planning permission for 175 new homes on Green Belt land it owns south of Musters Road – with access off Asher Lane. The proposals (above) were lodged by land owners Space Foods Ltd in January after a previous application for 250 houses on the same site was withdrawn two years earlier. Ruddington residents can breathe a sigh of relief – for now – after Rushcliffe Borough Council rejected plans to build 175 new homes on our Green Belt north of Asher Lane. The latest Ruddington crime figures, just released by Rushcliffe Police, reveal that thieves have struck again at a Ruddington building site – for a THIRD time! In the early hours of 10th September 2021, criminals got away with a three tonne digger from the Linden Homes ‘Blacksmith’s Green’ development. Safety concerns have been raised by local residents after a significant recent increase in visitors attempting to use Asher Lane to park for Rushcliffe Country Park.
