On 1st June 2018, trustees and volunteers for Ruddington based charity The Mustard Seed Project (Uganda) waved goodbye to a 40 foot container which was crammed full of items that were sourced and donated to send to Uganda. Notorious Footpath to be Resurfaced

After months of campaigning by pedestrians, and lobbying by Ruddington Parish Council (RPC), Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) has finally set a date to give a muddy Ruddington footpath a new, all-weather surface. The Planning Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government to examine the “soundness” of the Rushcliffe Local Plan Part 2 – Land and Planning Policies (published by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) in May this year) – has announced the dates of the Public Hearing Sessions. Pupils at a village school have launched their own dedicated daily exercise routine “The Daily Mile” in a bid to beat obesity and improve their health and well-being. Framework Knitters’ Museum wins National Lottery Funding

Ruddington’s Framework Knitters’ Museum has received initial National Lottery support for a new project called ‘A Right Good Yarn’. Made possible by National Lottery players, the project aims to expand the museum into an adjacent property called ‘Gunn Cottage’, purchased in 2013, and redevelop the existing space. In May we reported how Space Foods Ltd had successfully appealed to the Planning Inspectorate to allow it outline planning permission for 175 new homes on Green Belt land it owns south of Musters Road. This shock decision was despite massive opposition to the development from residents, Ruddington Parish Council – and Rushcliffe Borough Council’s refusal of the plans.
