New Community Facility to Replace our Village Hall?

A meeting of Ruddington Parish Council has agreed a plan which could involve closing and selling off our Village Hall to help fund the purchase of the former Young People’s Centre on The Green. The fate of dozens of acres of green fields surrounding our village now lies in the hands of the Government following last month’s submission by Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) of its draft Local Plan Part 2 to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government. A 19 year-old Ruddington performer has received yet more national recognition by winning an award for ‘Best Actor in a Musical’. At the weekend Louis Gaunt lifted the The Stage’s ‘Debut Awards’ accolade for his key role in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic ‘Oklahoma!’ after playing the part of cowboy Will Parker in a production at the prestigious Grange Park Opera House in Horsley. A successful software company based in Ruddington Fields Business Park has announced the acquisition of a high flying American inspection software provider – for a cool seven million dollars! Ideagen Plc, which employs around 400 people and has its Head Office at Ergo House on Mere Way, has bought North Carolina  based InspectionXpert – which is said to currently generate $2.8million in annual revenue.
