Bumper Month of Crime

Statistics released by Rushcliffe Police show what most villagers had already realised – February 2019 in Ruddington was a particularly bad month for crime – despite it being a short one!

Police Community Support Officer Kathy Lucock, who compiled the worrying figures, admitted it was a very busy period for them – particularly early on, due to continuing vehicle crime. Previously, RUDDINGTON.info has shared residents’ CCTV images of the person believed to have been Ruddington’s one man crimewave! Officers also revealed the offender who broke the two windows at Gino’s and The Old Bakehouse on Church Street has been dealt with by way of restorative justice – in the form of an apology and paying for the repairs.

PCSO Anthony Davies added: “At the end of last month an individual was issued with a Section 59 Warning which related to the use of a quad bike in a dangerous manner – on a residential street in Ruddington wearing no helmet – which had occurred earlier in the month. I do know that off road bikes are a concern to a number of residents in all parts of the area that we cover and where we can we do take positive action.”
